For Reviewers
JAFT relies on expert reviewers from academia and industry. Reviewer invitations are sent by email — no account or login required to accept an invitation.
Review process
- 1InvitationYou receive an email with the manuscript abstract and a deadline (typically 3 weeks). Click Accept or Decline directly in the email.
- 2Manuscript accessOn accepting, you receive secure access to the anonymised manuscript only — author names, affiliations, and the title page are withheld to preserve double-blind review. No login required.
- 3Submit your reviewProvide your recommendation: Accept / Minor revision / Major revision / Reject. Both author-facing comments and confidential comments to the editor are supported.
- 4DecisionThe Editor-in-Chief weighs all reviewer recommendations and makes the final publication decision.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts are strictly confidential. By accepting a review invitation you agree to JAFT's reviewer confidentiality agreement. Do not share, cite, or use any content from manuscripts under review, and do not upload them to external or public AI tools. Confidentiality extends after the editorial decision is made.
Conflicts of interest
Decline the invitation if any of the following apply:
- —Co-authorship with any of the listed authors in the past 5 years.
- —Current or recent employment at the same institution as the authors.
- —A financial interest in the outcome of the work.
- —Any other relationship that could compromise objectivity.
If in doubt, contact the editor before accepting.
Recognition
JAFT publishes an annual reviewer recognition list with each volume. All reviewers who completed at least one review during the year are acknowledged by name, with their consent.
